Classes

This is a list of classes we offer regularly at The Black Cat Stitchery. Other specialty classes are scheduled each year.  The best way to find out about our current list of classes is to sign up for our newsletter.  If you don't see a class scheduled that you would like to take just let us know!

Beginning Cross-Stitch  Learn the basics of cross-stitching as you complete a small project. Stitches covered include the full cross-stitch, half-stitch, quarter-stitch and backstitching. No experience necessary. $25 class fee includes instruction and materials.  Class meets once for 2 hours.

Stitching on Linen   Learn the techniques needed to stitch on linen. Students must already know how to cross-stitch. $30 class fee includes instruction and materials.  Class meets once for 2 hours.

Stitching Beaded Kits   Learn to stitch beaded kits on perforated paper. Class meets twice for two hours each. $25 class fee, kits range in price depending on size many options!

Beginning Needlepoint - Satin Stitch   You will stitch Laura J. Perin's Grandma's Flower Garden piece in the colorway of your choice as you learn the basic satin stitch required in most needlepoint patterns. Class meets three times for two hours.  $35 class fee does not include materials.  

Beginning Needlepoint - Emma Louise Sampler - Master the use of the Basketweave and Continental Stitches, which are both essential to needlepoint work. Other stitches covered include Scotch Stitch, Knitting Stitch, Brick Stitch, Long Stitch, Oblique Gobelin and Reversed Scotch Stitch. Class meets three times for three hours each. $45 class fee does not include materials. 

Punch Needle - Learn the fast, fun and easy craft of punch needle!  Class meets once for 2 hours. $25 class fee does not include materials.
